Sceneries... what normally reflect one's mind when comes to Kerala.
Most part of Kerala are surrounded by sea and backwater, making it the hot travel spot. 
The country preserve the most historic places as tourism spot such;

  • Fort Kochi, the place where Chinese traders made business connection with locals. 
  • Bekal Fort - built back in 1650 AD for defense 
  • Santa Cruz Basilica - built by Portugese invaders
  • Edakkal Caves, Wayanad - 6000 BC old
For beaches and backwaters, there are plenty of them that will make visitors spoilt for choices. the famous ones are;

  • Kuttanad - paddy field
  • Kollam - famous for Cashew Nut (don't forget to get some)
  • Kovalam
  • Allapuzha 
YTemple's and monument;

  • the ever famous temple GuruVayur is here in Kerala. also Chottanakarai Bagavathy. these 2 temples have thousands of devotees visits daily. to preserve the temple purity, some rules were imposed by the temple management such whichever device having camera are not allowed. please leave it in the car or hotel as they will be security check before allowing devotees inside the main gopuram. if they note you have this device, they will not allow you in and ask you to go back. 2nd important thing to note is only traditional wear is allowed such Sarees for ladies and dhoti for men. Men also need to remove off the shirts before entering deity's frontage as a sign of respect. 
  • advisable to bring cap/hat and water bottle to keep you chill while waiting and queueing.
  • most of the temples have express line (means you no need to wait very long) to enter the temple. it will be sold at the counter for Rs200 to Rs350. there will be temple workers guide you to through out the express line😀

Backwater and hotel activity;

this is the hottest spot in Kerala, heard of boat house? well, there are hundreds of boat house operating in Kerala.

the boat at the back is called 'boat house' it serves as a hotel to guests. there will be a respective driver of the boat and a cook in each boat just for you. inside the boat, there are air-conditioned room, playing area, dining and living. it suits the honey-mooner but not families with kids as not much activity available except eat and rest.
we choose to stay at Citrus Hotel located at the middle of backwater and paddy field.
Plenty of activities offered including;
paddy walk
sunrise watching
bird feeding
tea time at paddy field
sunset cruise
buffet dinner while enjoying traditional dance

Food;

Basically, breakfast is served with all Indian food and selected western, mainly bread and cereals. Lunch has much varieties to choose, even can get Chinese food in selected restaurant. Majority restaurant carries Halal certification. for dinner, some hotels provide buffet dinner, guests can enjoy their dinner while watching traditional dances organized by selected hotel. local food mainly quite spicy.

Very few can talk tamil

there are lot of travel agents trough out Kerala who provide tour service with/without hotel stays. normally they could get the hotel booking at much cheaper rate as they will use the regular customer rate. one reputable service offered to us were "Saffron Tour", the organizer, Mr Anoop is quite sharp with customer's request and gives speedy reply always. moreover, his driver's are all well verse in many language(s) which ease foreign tourist(s)
