We booked the snorkeling package prior to our visit to Langkawi. The night before, our agent had reminded us to wake up early and wait for transport as early as 7.00am
7.00am : eargerly waiting for our pick up
Junior was enthusiastically happy about going to beach without knowing what snorkeling really is, haha, it's his 1st time, in fact it's all of us 1st timeππ
We went to breakfast hall with full gear, just nice to leave after fueling the stomach.
The van arrived cater few from our hotel, and I noted that there were already a couple sat at the behind seat. After us, the stop at another hotel to fetch a foreigner. Soon we were headed to the jetty. By 8.00, we already reached the jetty and were told to wait for our turn. We were handed a yellow color wrist band like the theme park type, I notice some are wearing green colors.
8.30 am : we were called to gather, lined up and follow the tour guides. They were 3 of them, and everything was done smoothly, definitely as they are doing the same thing on daily basis. They pack our lunch and, life jackets and other necessities like water bottles, disposal water cameras and etc. oh ya, the people who were wearing green color wrist band were actually following another tour group. Hence there were 2 tour organizer per ship.
9.00am : the boat took off. Each of us were handed a life jacket. Junior received the smallest one. The boat maneuvered while we enjoyed the ocean sceneries and the journey took less than an hour.
Junior's style while playing game in the boat. Real bossy kidπ¨π½π»
10.00 am : arrived at marine park
From the jetty at marine park, there were small speed boat to transfer snockellers to the beach.
Sitting tightly in the small boat. The day was super hot and windy.
All were excited about going to explore a new thing. By 11 am, all of us were floating above on the sea. Since it's our 1st time, we really didnt plan about taking photo's and when we realized that we have missed out, we got no choice but to buy the disposable underwater camera for RM50. Not worth a single cent, please don't buy. Until now I didn't wash the pictures as when I click the capturing button, I couldn't the feel the 'click' and wasn't sure it really took any photos.
We saw some pro's brought a smart gear to bring your smart phones under water without damaging. So clever!
Overall we really enjoyed our snockeling trip except the sun burning part. Tips to 1st time visitor's;
- Bring cooling glass, hat π© and gaggle just in case
- Wear sun protection cream all over the body, reapply every 2 hours.
- If you are fussy eater, please brought your own food as they will give only mediocre type of food.
- If can, please visit sport gear shops before hand and get yourself a perfectly fit snockeling gear, the gaggles with nose set. The one that will be provided normally will not be in good hygiene and might not fit your face.
- The toilets here don't have fresh waters, they stored the sea water for cleaning use. So forget about getting fresh after the bath. Baby wipes might help π
- No wifi, internet and no line at all. Only SOS. We only realized it when we were there. Hence forget about camping overnight as it's hard to get help in case of emergencies
There are many fish I wanted to picture but having a 5 year old beside, I need to focus more on him. Hope to go again next time.
